"That a skill that not a lot of guys have," Urick says. "To play without the ball, coaches put a high value on that."
Georgetown will take on Big East rival Syracuse at the 2011 Konica Minolta Face Off Classic on March 12 at M Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

a little too much."
On attack, Davey Emala had a strong showing at the Play for Parkinson tournament. After putting up six goals and an assist in a support role last season, Emala is working this fall to fight for more playing time with the attack. Sophomore Jason McFadden, who saw time at the midfield in 10 games last season, was moved to attack and seems to be more comfortable in that role, using his strengths inside and off the ball.
Zac Guy, who put up 14 point from the midfield in 2010, has moved to attack, where he been playing with Rickey Mirabito and Travis Comeau on the first line. A good inside player, Urick says Guy seems to be more of a natural fit at attack and has been playing well with Comeau.
Chris Nixon and Eric Bicknese leave some big shoes to fill on the defensive end and fall injuries have made it difficult for Urick to really see how his defense is going to look come spring.
for the summer and was 15 20 pounds lighter when he arrived back on campus but has spent time in the weight room and is close to being back to the 190 or so he was before. He has a good stick and has proven that he can not only be effective in transition for the Hoyas, but also provides them another look at the face off X.
Also moving positions is Jason McFadden, who back at his natural position at attack after playing midfield for Georgetown last season. Senior Ryan Shuler Adidas Long Shirt Dress
The return of Barney Ehrmann, who was injured in the first game of 2010 and missed the rest of the season, will fill a void but Ehrmann didn participate in fallball due to a commitment to an academic program. Also missing from the fall is Bobby Boyle, who is projected to be a starter at close defense after missing all of last season with Lyme Disease. Boyle strained a pectoral muscle in the weight room this fall but should be back to full strength by January.
"At the end of the day you have to evaluate the bottom line because he (Guy) do some things that will make you scratch your head," Urick says. "He can be very effective but sometimes he tries to do Adidas Sweatshirt Design
"I don know if I have my finger on the pulse of it yet," coach Dave Urick says. "We starting to get some guys asserting themselves as leaders. I see the type of lacrosse we playing has to be a little different. We don have guys who can punch it in from 17 18 yards out so we a little different offensively and I think it can be effective for us. It will play out over time."
That leaves Dan Hostetler, Brennan Bicknese and Tyler Knarr as the only healthy defenseman this fall. Hostetler is the strongest player on the team and the most athletic. Like Mirabito on the offensive end, he stepped up into more of a leadership role.
The newest face at Georgetown who will make an immediate impact is fifth year transfer Matt Sutherland, a short stick defensive middie from Cornell. A tough player who will be effective in Georgetown defensive midfield, Urick says Sutherland has been a pleasant surprise and could also help on face offs.
In addition to finding a new identity on offense following the loss of midfielders Scott Kocis and Andrew Brancaccio, the Hoyas are shuffling players to different positions and filling in holes on the defensive end (Chris Nixon and Eric Bicknese).
Of his incoming freshmen, Urick said short stick defensive midfielder John Wujciak has shown he has college level athleticism. Defenseman John Urbank and midfielder Tyler Johnston were also two of the Hoyas top recruits but still have a lot to prove before they would see playing time.
After three straight years of being left just outside of the NCAA Tournament field, Georgetown enters the fall without the pressures of having a No. Adidas Pink Sweatshirt Womens 1 recruiting class on the field. Whether or not that eases the burden on the program remains to be seen.
While the midfield will have a completely different look, each of the projected starters have experience. Senior Max Seligmann has was the third midfield starter last year and will now lead the first line. Junior Zack Angel and sophomore Dan McKinney will move into starting roles too as Georgetown redefines its midfield. Rather than look for perimeter looks, the Hoyas will try to get the ball inside more and will also need better off ball play.
has moved from attack to the midfield, where he flourishing with more space to get up and down the field.
Urick appears pretty set when it comes to knowing who his top lines are going to be but with some depth at the attack and injuries to projected starters on defense this fall, there are a lot of guys fighting for time.
With 2010 leading scorer Craig Dowd gone and two sophomores slated to start at attack, Rickey Mirabito has taken on more of a leadership role at the position. That vocal leadership came through at a recent practice as Mirabito came down on the team when a full field stick work drill wasn being performed up to par.
With players who have already been in the program for at least a year expected to fill in for some of Georgetown holes, Urick said the window of opportunity for some of his freshmen to see a lot of playing time is small.
